Jacob Veltheer Arrested And Charged Following Murder of Father Robert Veltheer in Richmond Hill

A 30 year old Richmond Hill man, wanted on connection with the death of his father  has now been placed under arrest.

77 year old Robert Veltheer was found with what police referred to as obvious signs of trauma, inside a home on Harding Boulevard West,  in the area of Yonge Street and Major Mackenzie Drive on Sunday, February 7th, shortly after 9.p.m.

York Regional Police began a search for Veltheer’s son soon after the discovery, and issued an appeal for anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

It was confirmed in a news release on Monday afternoon that Jacob Veltheer had been located, after officers spotted him walking on Highway 48 in the area of Holborn Road in East Gwillimbury at around 1.30.p.m.

He was arrested at the the scene without incident and has since been charged with first degree murder.
