Mom of four shot dead in Scarborough

TORONTO - A late Saturday night shooting in east Toronto has left a 33-year-old mother of four dead and two men charged with first-degree murder.

Toronto Police’s 42 Division said officers were called to 12 Forest Creek Pathway in Scarborough — near Morningside and Old Finch Aves. — around 11:15 p.m.

Toronto EMS found the woman with “multiple gunshot wounds to the torso,” according to deputy commander Jamie Rodgers.

She was pronounced dead on scene, he said.

Police have identified the woman as Andrea White. Residents say she was a mother of four often seen in the community.

The two men were arrested after fleeing in a white SUV, cops say. OPP attempted to stop the SUV at Hwy. 401 and Avenue Rd. but the driver refused and fled northbound on Bathurst St., police said.

The two occupants fled the vehicle and one was nabbed after a foot pursuit, while the second surrendered several hours later, cops say.

A firearm was also found in the 401-Avenue Rd. area, according to police.
